North Korea Nuclear Crises. A Solution.

It is increasingly evident that many humanitarian initiatives hurt the world as a whole.

For example, Human Rights Watch advocates that we should not stop shipments of food to North Korea despite the nuclear tests. Many organizations can not trace cause-and-effect relationships which leads to this problem. Here are the pros and cons of stopping food aid to North Korea.

Pros:
- We stop wasting food on a country’s starving civilians and we can redirect to another country that is appreciative. North Korea has beautiful, empty modern buildings that are built out of waste and inefficiency. The populace suffers but is brainwashed by the dictator so they starve so the few elite there can live lavishly. If enough of the population starves to death, their whole system will crumble. By sending shipments of aid, we are subsidizing a government model that has failed and provides no value to the world.
- As more of the population starves to death, they will realize that their leader is not God. Currently with the propaganda there, if there was an invasion to “liberate” the people, civilians would all resist to the death. The country cannot be “freed” in its current state.
- As North Korea’s population dwindles, so does their military might and economic base. Furthermore, I would advocate that all trade be stopped with North Korea because it will actually decrease the time it takes for their fragile economy to collapse.

Cons:
- Innocent civilians die. However, this is happening elsewhere in the world so if we just redirect the aid elsewhere, less innocent people die elsewhere.
- The U.S. will be viewed as cruel and seeking to expand its empire by crushing communism. Rebuttal: The reputation of the United States is already at a low but people fear the US because of its power. This is not the time to back down and act weak.

From this we can see that it will actually be in the best interest of the world to let the people of North Korea die by their own hands instead of trying to help but actually prolonging a problem that could be solved by simply cutting them off completely from the rest of the world. As technology progresses, they will fall so hopelessly behind that one day it may be possible to easily topple their government with almost no bloodshed.
