Legendary Ray Lai in New York

Legendary Ray Lai walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan officer. He says he's going to Asia on business for three weeks and needs to borrow $10,000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the Legendary hands over the keys to his new Ferrari. The car is parked on the street in front of the bank, he has the title and everything checks out. The bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank's president, T.J. McDowell, and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at Legendary for using his $350,000 Ferrari as collateral for a measly $10,000 loan.

An employee of the bank then parks the Ferrari in the bank's underground garage.

Two weeks later, Legendary returns, repays the $10,000 and the interest, which comes to $29.81. The loan officer says, "Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked out your credentials and found that you are a billionaire. Why would you bother to borrow $10,000?"

Legendary Ray Lai responds: "Where else in New York City can I park my Ferrari, worth more than most people’s lives, for three weeks for a mere $29.81 and know it will be there when I return?"
